Track recording dropping constantly

Hi, 

I'm using the current Gaia app on an iPhone 11 Pro with the current iOS. Pretty much every time I'm in the mountains recording a track it drops the recording at some point, leaving my track incomplete. Sometimes this happens several times per track, after I've started the recording again. The app is not crashing. 

I take a lot of pictures and video while out, but have not been able to link this usage to the stoppage of track recording. I have no other ideas but am considering abandoning the app entirely because of this problem, which has been persisting for months across multiple iOS's.
