Screen Off When in Holster to Improve Battery Life

It would be great if the screen had an auto-off feature when not being viewed to prolong battery life. I have a holster I place my iPhone in but have to go into the iPhone screen brightness control to dim the screen after every viewing and increase each time I want to refer back to the app. Otherwise, the screen is constantly on and drains the iPhone battery in less than 5 hours.

I have tried the Auto-Lock feature in the Display and Brightness tab of Settings but the app stays on.

Would also be great to have better contrast/larger font for the timer once the record button is pressed. Impossible to read in bright sunlight.

Can you please help.

  Hi Robert, 
  
  Can you check your Gaia GPS Power Saving settings to make sure "Keep Screen On" is not activated? 

  • open Gaia GPS > Settings > Power Saving > Keep Screen On
  • Toggling this to 'OFF' will allow the app to Auto-Lock just like the rest of your device's apps.
