This is probably the single feature that determines what app I use.  I like Gaia's mapping and display, but I won't use it if it doesn't have auto pause.  Please add it.

  I see some others requesting auto-pause and I also wish Gaia had it. When I have been in backcountry with limited contact with GPS satellites (like Rocky Mountain terrain), Gaia just makes scribbles while I’m not moving, as it tries to get a new fix on my resting location. It’ll say I’m moving at some random speed (like 0.3 mph) while I’m sitting still. Ultimately adding a good bit of distance to the track as well. It’s too easy to get distracted and forget to Resume Recording if paused manually. Other apps have auto-pause, I’m invested solely in Gaia now.

  Auto pause is definitely a want to have feature for my bicycling trips

  I join other users with this request. Autopause is necessary and easy to implement.

  Bumping this up again as this would be a great feature and is available on most other activity tracking apps.

  Forgetting to resume or not having the gps just continue to log while we stop for a lunch break or rest would be really useful.
