Ranger District Maps

Just bought a subscription today and can already tell the great use I will get out of GAIA for finding dispersed camping spots.  The only thing I would see being a hassle, is determining which roads are open or not.  In order to do so, I need to know which ranger district a road resides in and check that corresponding ranger distrtict's website.  It would be a very convenient feature to have a 'USFS Ranger District' layer that outlines the districts so I can quickly know which district webpage to search for to get that particular roads status.  Thanks.

  Thanks for giving Gaia GPS a try and for writing in with this suggestion. 
  
  I can see how a 'USFS Ranger District' overlay would be a great additional map source. 
  
  While we don't have this layer right now, you might still be able to find the information you're looking for in two existing map sources:

  • USFS Roads and Trails
  • MVUM (USFS)

  
  Clicking or tapping on a road or trail in both of these sources brings up a box with additional information. 
  
  Ranger Districts are listed under the road name in the MVUM info box:

  I would very much like this as a standalone or at least easy to follow map.  I have tried to follow the USFS RD boundaries on the Nat Geo maps but very difficult to relate the boundaries to roads and other features.
