iOS Will not record track

I have an ipad which is gps enabled, but is not cellular enabled. It is able to see my position, give me coordinates, and follows me as i am driving along. It will not record my track however, gives me no data and doesnt show a line. I have chnaged my location services for Gaia to "always", i have tried restarting the ipad  but besides that I am not sure what to do.

 

Any thoughts?

  If your iPad is not cellular enabled, it does not have a GPS sensor in it.  It can still locate you with WiFi or Bluetooth, but not GPS satellites.  This is common source of confusion, sorry about that.  You can read more about the differences here: https://www.lifewire.com/ipad-gps-information-1683262
