Change white header and backgrounds to black, it's been 2 years since the suggestion and it's annoying losing night vision

  Hello all,

  Just popping in to share that Dark Mode is now supported in the latest release of the Android app.

  To access Dark Mode, update the app to version 2020.12.

  Here's how:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Search for Gaia GPS
  3. Tap the "Update" button

  You can enable Dark Mode in the app by following these steps:

  1. Open Gaia GPS
  2. Tap Settings > Appearance
  3. Toggle "Dark Mode Map" and "Dark Mode" to the desired setting.

  Would it be possible to include a night vision mode with Gaia.

  I realize that much of the screen image is the maps themselves but we should be able to select a night mode where the screen is more than simply dimmer.

  Fugawi had a reasonably approach for this in making the white or light colours on the screen red.

  EDIT: Sorry for the confusion folks. Dark mode is available on iOS. It is not yet available on Android, but it is something we are looking into.

  The iOS Dark Mode will work with the Gaia Topo map source.
  
  To turn on Dark Mode, go to the iOS settings app, tap Display & Brightness, and choose Dark Mode.
  
  Here are instructions for adding the Gaia Topo layer:

  • Add and Manage Map Sources

  (This is on the Android board after all, can't really open iOS settings on an Android phone/tablet)

  Just started using GAIA. Right off the batt I noticed no night mode which is sorely needed when driving at night. It seems IOS has this feature. Any update on when dark mode will be implemented on Android? For the price of a premium account this should be a fully featured app.

  Is there any update on when dark / night mode will be available on Android?

  This is really needed as most other apps on android have this feature. and its currently on the iOS version.

  They finally added night mode in the latest release! Thank you GAIA!!! We appreciate your work in getting these much needed features added to the product to make it that much better! Hands down one of the best gps products out there!
