Add "waypoint" to track log with distance

I recently returned from a backpacking trip in Utah's Dark Canyon.  This was the first trip that I have used Gaia GPS.  I was favorably impressed with it.  However, there are two (advanced?) features that I would like to see added.  The first feature is sort of a merge of a track log and waypoint.  I would like the ability to mark a feature (trail jct,, ruins, etc.) in my track log. This "marking" would include all the current waypoint information, plus the distance along the track log.  For example: I leave camp and start a track recording, two miles later a come to a junction. I would like to label this point in the track log with a title and icon (just as is the case with a waypoint) and the distance from the start of the track log (camp).  Once I finish a track recording, I can then view the track log along with it's marked features and the distance along the track.  I might get something that looks like this:
