    Hey Festus -

I agree more planning tools would be nice.  In the meanwhile I use www.caltopo.com (for free) to plan my hikes including campsites and more.  The elevation profile, ground cover, tree cover, slope info is super helpful, printing paper copies is great.  I then import my planed hikes into Gaiagps.com and use on my phone while actually hiking.

Hope this is helpful. - mo

    I agree with this.

Recently an update to how the web version works got rid of mileage between points. Now when you click on a point you've created along a route the only option is to delete it. This really kills the route planning capability of Gaia GPS from my perspective.

Also, being able to see the exact mileage displayed when you're scrubbing along the elevation profile would be good, not sure why the profile is currently split up in odd increments and only shows a few mileage points, but it's not very useful for planning.

And I second the need to be able to hide anything we choose, not sure the value in seeing all the routes and markers (all the time) Ive created in a specific area while I'm creating a new route, it's distracting.

caltopo is a much better planning tool, but it'd be nice if that was added to GaiaGPS

The lack of planning is why I will NOT be purchasing this product. I want to plan on my laptop and download the markedup maps to my tablet. I do that now with Avenza and Terrago toolbar
