set frequency / distance filter when recording tracks

Is there a way to set the frequency of recording points on a GPS track, say every second, every two seconds, every 5 seconds?  Similarly is there a way to set a distance threshold so if a new point is less than the threshold distance from the last point only one is recorded?

  Currently, there isn't a way to adjust the distance interval when recording a track. Sorry about that.
