Holes In The Databases?
AnsweredHow do trails get included into your database(s)? I live in the Missouri and frequently do not find the trails I am looking for. Today, for example I could not find Brushy Creek Loop Trail near Bunker, MO. Several months ago I looked up the Ozark Highland Trail in northern Arkansas. This is a major trail more than 200 miles long, written up in Backpacker magazine a couple years ago, yet only part of it showed up in Gaia.
Am I searching incorrectly? Should I be bringing them up to you as I find them? Will pointing out a few help you find what the problem is? (There is a problem as these trails usually show up in another app I use.)
It's frustrating.

I'm sorry you are having trouble finding trails on Gaia GPS. Gaia GPS uses OpenStreetMap trail names to search on the website.
It looks like there are a few different names that this trail goes by that are not accounted for in OpenStreetMap. Brushy Creek Loop Trail is labeled as Ozark Trail - Blair Creek Section:

As a local in this area, if you find discrepancies in the names for trails or missing trails on the map, you can update the map by contributing to OpenStreetMap. We wrote a blog detailing how: http://blog.gaiagps.com/map-your-world-with-openstreetmap/
If you decide to contribute any updates to OpenStreetMap, you'll see the changes in Gaia GPS in two to three weeks.
