Maidenhead grid overlay
Admittedly only used by amateur radio operators, the Maidenhead grid system is a convenient way to indicate a location anywhere in the world. Maidenhead is similar to plus codes in that shorter codes can be used to indicate a less-specific region. For example, most of northwest Oregon is contained in CN85, but my city region is CN85nm. Designators down to 10 digits are possible, although only 6 digits are used in practice. As an operator who likes to plan radio trips that revolve around grid locators, this would be a very handy overlay.

I would find this useful as well.

Many amateur radio operators would love a Maidenhead layer. I would use it on a regular basis.

Just another :+1: for this; it’d be very useful for my hikes!

+1 here as well. Would love to have a Maidenhead overlay here.

I see this request is a few months old, but I'd love a Maidenhead overlay, as well.

Count me in and it is something people would appreciate. Right now there is no easy GIS solution for realtime tracking of where you are within a Grid Square. You can get a readout from some radios but having a tablet or watch or phone based platform support this graphically would be great.

Also would love this feature.

+1 for this feature. It would save me from needing to cross-reference from other applications to do my route planning in Gaia.
Here's a nice conversion from Maidenhead to WGS84 coordinates witten in Python: https://github.com/space-physics/maidenhead

I would like to see Gaia GPS support Maidenhead as a native coordinate type, so we can add waypoints by entering Maidenhead coordinates directly.

Absolutely! Add me to the list.

Add me in as well - especially with the price increase! Would love to see gridline spots for satellite work
