Track Save
I have no idea how this happened, but when I pulled my phone from my pocket, and it had been recording for nearly 8 miles, there was a new track that I somehow started when I stopped for a break. I have no idea how I could have even saved the current track and started a new track while the phone was in my pocket. Any way...the first track is there in its entirety, so no problem. But...the 2nd track I accidentally saved/overwrote to an older track from a few years ago. I am fine with losing the old track (since I assume it is now gone since I over wrote it), but is there any way to change the date to reflect today's date so at least it falls in chronological order?

I'm sorry there was an issue with an issue on your recent trip. If Gaia GPS is kept in the foreground, it can keep your phone's screen active when in your pocket. I recommend turning off the 'Keep Screen On' setting to prevent any options from being selected when your phone is in your pocket or bag.
-Open the app> Settings> Power Saving> Toggle OFF 'Keep Screen On'
You can change the date and time that is listed in your track recordings title by:
-Open the Saved folder in the app> Select your Track recording> Tap the pencil icon next to the title to change the name.
Also, this track recording may have just added onto to a previous recording. You can try cropping the track to fix the data. Doing this will delete the recently recorded track section.
Follow these steps to crop your track.0 -
Thank you for the quick response. What happened was that somehow I started an older track during a break on the trail. I was able to delete the latest section (as you said would happen), but at least I kept the original track intact. The only downside is that the last few miles of the latest track are missing, but I just need to be more careful. :)
