Also from me. For people that do planning in other apps, it's frustrating to have all those colors dropped when importing into Gaia.

Yes, but I also want to set colors directly at gaiagps.com

This would be great for kml files. The trail system uses color coded difficulty ratings. Would love to preserve the google earth  colors in gaia.

This would be extremely helpful. Now I download 30 colored gmx tracks in a single file and I have to manually change the color on each one. Not easy in Gaia. Not fun.

If you're terminal-friendly, you all might want to check out gaiagpsclient, which can do this for you, by translating to and from gaia's non-standard track coloring system:

ok, sounds like a good idea, i'm good with command line. however, it looks like i'll have to convert my .kmz files to .gpx as gaiagps client doesn't seem to like .kmz files

Would love this ability as well. I frequently import tracks from TrailsOffroad and have almost gotten lost before because two connected trails had the same color in Gaia.

This is my biggest problem with Gaia.  It is very strange that Gaia on Android does not use the color information in GPX tracks, particularly as exported GPX tracks contain color dummy color information.

So update based on my troubleshooting with this since its been an issue with the files i used from groups with trails and color marking is crucial.

KML/KMZ color maintaining on import does work if using the the website (which means it cant be giant), I have been fighting this for months and finally broke apart a section of the KMZ file I downloaded in google earth and imported on website and track colors and are a colors imported correctly.

I used the same file in the iOS app (which I had been using for these files all the time due to website would import that big) and even with it being a smaller files it randomized the colors on tracks.

So I doubt gpx color support will ever be added since its extra and not part of formal GPX spec but just convert it to KML/KMZ in GPS Visualizer and colorize it in Google Earth (it might maintain it in conversion I don't have any to test

I just tried to import some GPX files on my Android phone and the color is now imported successfully!

I'm specifying colors for tracks as

    <extensions><TrackExtension><DisplayColor>DarkGray</DisplayColor></TrackExtension></extensions>
