Track a hiker
I have a friend that is going on a major hike in Feb. 2019 who is going to use the Gaia app. Is it possible for me to track his hike if he links me up somehow? Thanks! Craig

If your friend shares a link to their track recording or the folder that they plan to store all of their track recordings, you will be able to view their progress whenever they sync their device with gaiagps.com.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to live track within Gaia GPS.0 -
This is mostly my question, too. So, say you are outside of cell service. Can you still sync so someone can know roughly where you are should you go missing, as a safety precaution, especially for hiking solo? This would be my interest in a product like this, so any information about tracking and location sharing would be very useful to me.

For solo trips, I recommend sharing a link to your routes, waypoints, or folder for your trip with a friend or family member before heading out.
Syncing your progress on your trip is just available whenever you have access to a cellular or WiFi connection. Gaia GPS does not have the ability to sync or message when used offline due to the hardware on most devices.0
