Gaia quits tracking when my phone snoozes

I'm a new user. Started off fine with tracking once I figured out about location services. However, after Gaia ran through my phone charge in about 4 1/2 hours of hiking and lost the rest of my track, I looked into battery preservation. I get that going to airplane mode will help and I am tracked in that mode - but now my phone goes to sleep  - and Gaia quits tracking - after a short time. I can't think of any setting I changed but maybe you have a batter idea? Right now, this is not useful to me.

  I'm sorry there was an issue with your recent track recording and it sounds like Battery Saver mode is active on your device. When active, Battery Saver mode will not allow Gaia GPS to access your Location Services whenever Gaia GPS is in the background or if you put your device in sleep mode.

  Nathan - got the suggestion to deactivate power management and all is well. Now the phone still snoozes but the tracking works. Thanks!
