I hike with my dog too. It is nice to know ahead of time which trails allows dogs. Thanks for bringing it up.

Have we gotten anywhere with this? I am a new dog owner and this is a game-changer for accessibility in the bay area. Sure there are some beaches but are there any trails with real mileage that we can get some data wrangled on and create a new layer. This has got to be a demand since COVID!

    Thanks!

    Hi Tim,
Thanks for sharing. I can see how it would be useful to have this info on a layer or a trail description. We don't have this on the roadmap right now, but I've added your info to our feature request for it.

Here's an example of a site that Boulder, CO maintains for trails near Boulder.  If there were a way to sync / import this data, that'd be great.

For that site as it is arcgis, you should be able to export a gpx file of the trails you want to have a copy of, save to your computer or phone, and then open into gaia and it will save them :)

@glenn.bean, you may be able to add these trails as a custom map source.

If you can export the trails as @Amata suggests, you can then import and style them in MapBox Studio. From there, you can grab a URL that will let you access your new map in Gaia GPS. These articles should help with this process:

Exporting and importing maps from another source will tell you which way to go on the trail, it won't tell you which trails are dog friendly. I've canceled my subscription until this feature is added, it's a dealbreaker for me.

I’d like the precision of Gaia, the hard-core mapper for hiking.
But when I just want to find a good hike for me and the dogs, it doesn’t help. AllTrails is very helpful, simply hit a button on their filter and it provides dog friendly trails only. Why can’t Gaia do the same?
