    Hi Everyone,
I wanted to drop in here and let everyone know we are listening and thank you for your feedback. I can definitely see how this would be a great addition for Android users.

While this currently isn't on the roadmap, I encourage others to upvote this request to show their support.

You guys need to get on android wear ASAP. Your biggest competition,ViewRanger, offers andorod wear. The time is now. Get the developers on it. I really would like to stay with gaia gps but if this feature is not brought I will be forced to switch to ViewRanger

Agreed.  I would love a Gaiagps app on Android Wear.  It would be convenient to look at your watch to make sure that you’re following the hiking trail and not have to pull out your phone.

    Here's a response I received.

"We don't have plans to integrate with the Android Wear platform at this time, but other users have expressed a desire for it on our Community Forum here: https://help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360022946973-Android-Watch

Feel free to vote, comment, and follow this feature request."

Really hoping they pick this up seeing as I already purchased a year.

I agree, it would be a great feature to work with the "Guide Me" function on the phone. It wouldn't be nearly as awkward to hike and navigate, if you could just glance at your wrist at every fork in the road.

Signed up just to comment I really want an Android Wear App. I'm deciding between Gaia, Viewranger, and Alltrails. An Android Wear App would really seal the deal on this app.

WayneStanton, you're better off choosing another app that already supports android wear. These guys really show no interest (or priority) in making this happen. Maybe if they lose out on would be subscribers they will make it happen. I plan on not renewing my yearly subscription until they decide to make this feature available.

I use an alternative tracking app because of android wearos support. Would like to use GaiaGPS for tracking. Would be great to have shortcuts from my watch to start/stop tracking and quickly view my route.

GAIA please develop for use on android smart watch please!!  I swear by this app, however I want to be able to use it on a android smart watch.  I really don't want to have to switch GPS apps!  Thank you.  Great app though.

Been with Gaia 5 years despite a few annoyances have been very happy. Now leaving due this issue. Its clearly the way forward and developers don't seem to be on board with it at all. Android wear uptake might be a bit slower but not for much longer. And many people don't want to go all in on the apple ecosystem (which is pretty much a binary thing unfortunately). So its off to transfer my hike library and learn a new app... Pity

I've been using GaiaGPS since 2018, always as an Android user.  I love the app . . . except . . . as an Android user I feel like a 2nd class citizen.  We are not considered for upgrades, use and improvements.  This is a fine example. Two years ago this request was made and the response was it wasn't on their radar.  GaiaGPS, please don't just cater to the Apple population. You have a good number of Android users, many who, like me, are silent and using the product in hopes of improvements coming our way.  My patience, and loyalty, is running thin.  I hope you will invest in your Android users in a big way soon!

Not sure it could be part of this request or not, or maybe its Garmin too.  I would like to have Gaia use the GPS from my Fenix watch via bluetooth.  Would save some battery life on my phone....I kind of like the larger screen when backpacking.

not sure i'd switch to viewranger as i'm just getting comfortable with gaiaGPS and may be too lazy to learn a new system.  WIthout android wear/casio support it's definitely going to have me look in this direction as an option.

Also Google seems to be leaving Android Wear users in the dust and not really expanding or adding much support. Now that Google bought Fitbit maybe they will make it better and then Gaia can be persuaded to add Android support in the future.

Really hope that this becomes a thing. I love GaiaGPS, use android, but to be able to see the trail on your wrist without having to pay for another service would be great

Hello Gaia Maps Team. It seems the android community here is not being listened to. 2 years and no response yet. What is going on?  I was just out in Harriman State Park and was wishing I had Gaia Maps on my Android watch. I have never owned a apple phone or watch and never plan to. Sometimes it nice to add something even though it doesn't seem like it is needed The community is asking for something reasonable here.

Too bad there's still nothing - Loved Gaia and have a subscription but I'll be ending that to go to Alltrails I suppose

Such a shame. Might need a new team to develop a similar app and actually be inclusive

Depending on what/why you need gaia, OnX might be a better option, once my subscription here ends (or maybe before) i'll likely be switching over to OnX.  I currently have gaia and alltrails (mostly for up-to-date trail conditions), while i prefer gaia for its feature set and reliability in remote places, android really is just a side project for gaia.  I often need to use my ipad just to manage things, then switch back to my android tablet for when i'm in the car and driving.
