Desired: a visual overview of all maps currently downloaded in an area.
It would be helpful to somehow get a visual overview of all maps currently downloaded in an area. Currently, Gaia GPS offers the following capabilities, which isn't quite what I want:
- the Saved area shows it in a list, but that isn't that helpful as I have to translate that to what is actually saved on the map
- I can see if a particular map type is saved for an area if I try to add a map, but that is only for that particular map type - it doesn't show other map types downloaded in that area. Currently, I have to go to the 'add maps visualization' and navigate through each available map type to see if it was actually downloaded.
What would be handy is to have a menu setting, eg, view downloaded maps, that will show all the downloaded map areas, perhaps as color-coded boxes, visible on the main screen so that I can tell at a glance if that area has a downloaded map.
Reason: I have use GAIA GPS heavily over very many areas and over several years. I have many downloaded maps on my phone, mostly with cryptic names (typically because I am in a rush). So when I return to an area its easy to forget if I have a map downloaded for it. As a consequence, I usually end up trying to download the map again (perhaps of a different map type), when the currently downloaded map would have easily suffice.
