GPS coordinates and the search feature.

So far this has been the best addition to my adventure  addiction  so far.However,my lack of tech savvy is starting to impede my fun. How do I cut and paste GPS coordinates from my emails,P.Ms or websites onto the Gaia platform ?Thanks and safe travels.

  Thanks for posting. 

   You can cut and past coordinates that are formatted in decimal degrees (00.0000, -00.0000) in the search bar on gaiagps.com

  I found the online latitude/longitude search behavior somewhat confusing since the search tool returns a single result which must then be selected.  These are my notes on how I do a latitude / longitude search:

  • In the Explore the Map view, type the coordinates into the search field in decimal format, ie 37.172202,-122.222334.  
  • Immediately below the search box, a second box will appear with the same numbers.  
  • Click on that box to cause the map to go to the search location.

  Thanks for posting.
  We are working on a big overhaul of the main map on gaiagps.com. Once complete we plan to improve how to search for coordinates online.

  For now, the steps you described are the current process for searching for coordinates.
