KML rather than KMZ export
We are hoping that there is a solution/workaround to the KMZ export. We use GAIA in tandem with a forest inventory software app that digests KML, as do most other apps. Most of them cannot directly digest KMZ- you must unzip them on the desktop or use another intermediary, such as Google Earth, to do this, but even that is limited to only desktop functionality.
Is there any chance that the KML export function could actually export KML, rather than KMZ? We always wondered why folks use KMZ- sure the files are a little smaller, but KML files aren't all that big, and bandwidth and memory is getting cheaper by the day.
Anyways, it just seems silly to export a file format that needs to be manipulated before use, rather than just dump out the file format that people can use directly. Thanks for considering.
