proximity ring for ios

I would like to see a adjustable proximity ring(1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, and 1 mile) that you could quickly use to see how far you are from a feature or way point.

  I agree this would be a great addition to the app.  I would even make the distance selection shorter.  I do a lot of bushwhack snow shoeing and on numerous occasions have had to back track due to walking pass my selected waypoint. I live in Alaska and like to keep my IOS in my pocket in order to keep it warm and the battery alive.  It would be great if I could chose a location (waypoint + guide me) then when I hear my phone chime knowing it's time to pull the phone out and make my decision as to my next point of navigation.
