How can I just clear an existing route and start over without deleting the entire route or each waypoint?

  This sound like the question I was just about to ask. I signed in and selected an existing route to display. Then I wanted to stop displaying it. Can't figure it out. No menu item for it. Can't left or right click the route to get a menu to stop displaying it.
