Track recording issues
AnsweredI hadn't used my record track feature on my app until today. When I tried to record a track it doesn't display or record data properly. If you think in terms of walking around a typical running track....when I start my track at the start line and then walk a half a lap and then turn off my display by hitting the power button, I get a screwed up track if I walk the rest of the track and then turn my display on. Instead of showing a track around the running track it will show a track for the first half of the lap and then a straight line to my current location where I'm standing when I turn the display back on. Gaia has been running in the background on my phone the whole time. I am using this app on a Galaxy S8+.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Make sure that you do not have any power saving modes enabled. Sounds as if a power saving mode is enabled and GAIA is "put to sleep" when the display is off.

That did it. Thanks.

I have a similar problem. No tracking when Gaia GPS is not in the forefront/active. Track is not accurate but a straight line between when Gaia GPS was active.
Google Pixel 3a
Settings | Battery | Battery Save is set to "Off"
Settings | Battery Adaptive Battery is set to "on".
Android version 10
Gaia GPS version 2020.6
