Yes, agreed very annoying to have to convert from lat/long to mgrs or utm

Agree - 1000 meter grids are sure simpler than lat long.  UTM is easier to reference-  grids are the same as mgrs- no zones.

Has anyone looked at implementing this? Agreed would be very useful. Thanks.

Yes, please add the option to view grids in either/or. Displaying MGRS would be much better as Lat Longs are intended for nautical and aeronautical navigation, where massive ranges/areas are covered at much higher speeds.

This would be helpful, especially if you're trying to give your location to others. I would say no less that 8 digit grid.

    Hey all,

Just popping in to clarify what sounds like confusion about MGRS grids.

It is currently possible to view an MGRS grid overlay in the app and on the web by following these steps:

    • Tap the Layers icon > Map Overlay > Grid Overlay > MGRS

More detailed instructions are available here:

This feature request is for adding compatibility for MGRS coordinates to the web. This is not currently available.

Click the "Help" button at the bottom of the screen if you have any questions.

I think the idea was to have the way points display mgrs coordinates, not us a grid overlay, although the overlay is pretty weak.

Yes, sorry for the confusion. It would be helpful to be able to drop a way-point and instead of displaying Lat/Longs it displays MGRS. The same could be said when entering an MGRS into the search bar, instead of displaying the equivalent in Lat/Longs display the coordinate searched in MGRS on the map.

Noting all the above, but still missing something...

    How about MGRS on Android?
It's great on .com, and on my iPad...but my Android phone doesn't seem to have that overlay!

Hey there - yet to see this rectified. What users are requesting is the ability to select an MGRS coordinate format. Currently the web version only lets users choose between lat / long (in three formats) and UTM.
