Making Blue Distance Markers Dots To Always Show on Routes

My iOS maps sometimes show the blue distance marker dots and sometimes don't. I am not able to figure out when and how do they show up and a way to make them show.

Is there a way I could make them show always by default?

  Hopefully, we'll also find out how to REMOVE those annoying blue dots.

  You can hide/show the blue distance markers by:

  • Open the app> Settings> Distance Markers & Notifications> toggle off/on Markers

  I have this issues as well. It shows for some routes and not for others. I have the settings turned on. My understanding is that it should show for all routes I’ve created, however it appears to be random. Is this issue being fixed? Is it a known issue. Significantly affects my use of the app while hiking as I can’t tell how far I’ve gone and how far I have to go. Major, major issue.

  Thanks for reaching out. There is a bug that is causing the distance markers to not show for some users. 
  
  We are looking into it and will release a fix as soon as we find a solution. 
  
  Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you in the meantime.

  This is still happening on iOS. It appears the blue dots are there but disappear at different zoom levels, but come back at other zoom levels.
