    Thanks for posting.

We don't' have any current plans to add NAD83, but this post can serve as an official feature request. Anyone else interested can vote/comment - and get updates via email.

Natural Resource Canada (NRCan) now uses the Nad83 as the geodetic référence système. It could be really useful to add it on the app! What everyone think about it?

I totally agree. I use this app a ton for field biology work and NAD83 is a standard for many of the client I serve.

Please consider adding NAD83. Using the app in the field is great and would be even better with NAD83. Most science field work uses this datum. Just ran into a problem this week with Gaia not having NAD83 and the project I’m working on has it’s mapping done with it, so it’s back to the old GPS.

Map Plus in IOS seems like a good alternative.  It is not as intuitive but has much more mapping capabilities.  Plus, its not subscription driven.

How are the maps? I am walking around the desert and it’s great to have aerial views so I can see washes or faint dirt roads.

NAD83 is the required datum in my field. I don't see how GAIA can continue with NAD27. I have paid for the use of this app but mostly use others because of the need for NAD83. Come on Gaia, get with the program.

From my understanding, to go from Nad27 to Nad83, its a simple unit conversion calculation. It’s probably not that complicated for the software developers...

Another request for NAD83. My company and the agencies we work with uses NAD83. I like your app the best of those I've used and it would be convenient if you added it.

Contracting with the Forest Service in Idaho. They also use NAD83. Would be nice to have that option.

Currently bringing both phone for property layers and GPS for recording tracks, points.
