    Frankly I'm stunned.  How on earth (pun intended) can you have a GPS tool that does not allow the entry of lat and lon!?  This is FUNDAMENTAL to navigation.  Please, please, please prioritize this.  I may have to abandon Gaia for lack of this tool.  Google maps does this instantly.

    Can you please provide a status on the addition of this feature?  I agree with the other comments above.  I spent considerable time trying to determine how to manually enter coordinates before coming across this thread/request. I've been very happy with most features of the program but this is a significant drawback.

    Thanks for posting.

    We do have plans to add this feature to gaiagps.com, but I don't have an ETA at this time on when it will be available. Sorry about that.

    You can do this in the Gaia GPS app, however:

    • To create a waypoint by entering coordinates, use the Add Waypoint option (Android/iOS)
    • Edit existing waypoints
    • Search by coordinates (Android/iOS)

    @slmarx
    We are currently working on a big under the hood improvement to the mapping framework used on gaiagps.com. After this project is all set, we will be able to add this capability to the website.

    I need an app where I can search topo maps by manually entering coordinates; if there is no way to do this, I am going to cancel my membership immediately!!!   :-(

    Someone from Gaia; please send instructions on how to do this or tell me if it can't be done.

    Hi Paul,
    You can search for coordinates in the app by following these steps for Android or iOS.

    If you don't have the app yet on your phone, you can download it for free from the App Store or Play Store and log into your account to access your membership.

    Is there a way to do the same for web based users? I tried entering both styles of coordinates (37°12'51.5"N 121°47'47.9"W or 37.214303, -121.796638) in the search bar, and received the message "Geolocation error: User denied Geolocation." I did not see a setting for the web based subscription as I did for the Android app.

    Hi majesticoak,

    Creating a waypoint by inputting coordinates is currently only available in the app. You are able to search for coordinates in decimal degrees on the website and have the map zoom into the area.

    If you are getting 'Geolocation error: User denied Geolocation' message check that gaiagps.com has permission to use your location information. If you are using Chrome, you can adjust your permission settings by following these steps: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/142065

    Send us an email at support@gaiagps.com if you are having any trouble after adjusting that setting.
