Grid Overlays for Android like in IOS

I was disappointed to see that android lacks the grid overlay included in the IOS version which would show scale/mileage in a quick and easy way.

  This feature is incredibly underrated in my opinion and I am looking forward to it being added.

  So it has been at least 2 years since this feature has been requested? Can we at least have an explanation why it is available on iOS but not on Android?
