    Gaia GPS is compatible with Android v4.1 and higher devices and works best with devices that include a GPS Chip and a compass sensor.

    Check out this article for more information of conserving your battery while using Gaia GPS: Conserve Battery Life.

    I ave android Galaxy Note 4.  Since download yesterday, it kills my battery within 2-3 hours.  Battery life literally went 2% in time it took to log in  and comment on this from my pc.  This will never work for back country camping which is why I purchased it.  Any other suggestions besides the Conserve Battery Life tips.  Was there something insidious attached to the gaia download? Frustrated and am ready to simply uninstall and eat membership cost.

    Same issue as Jerrymanuell.  Android V7 and Gaia cant make it through an afternoon hike without killing the battery (Which makes it quite useless) Please post the trouble shoot here.

    @lionkill666,

    I'm sorry your device's battery is draining quickly.

    This article offers some tips to help with that: Conserve Battery Life on Android
    As does this blog post: https://blog.gaiagps.com/save-phone-battery-life/

    Some users also carry spare battery banks on longer hikes like these from Anker
