    Hey there,

You can now hide individual tracks, routes, waypoints, and areas from the main map on the web.

    More info here: https://help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043142334-Show-or-Hide-Tracks-Routes-Areas-and-Other-Data-on-the-Map-on-gaiagps-com

Yes, please add an eyeball as we have on iOS. I would really love to turn tracks / routes on and off!

Absolutely! The sync/unsync is really kind of a silly work around for this. The user should have the ability to pick and choose to display certain routes/tracks across all devices.

The user should also be able to choose to display individual waypoints.

This is basic functionality along with manual GPS coordinate entry for a new waypoint.

Can I vote multiple times for this one? I couldn't agree more!

I vote for it too, but you can actually do it, even though it is more like a workaround than an actual solution.

If you go to the "Route" menu item, you can switch OFF the synchronisation of a specific route. It will make it disappear from the map. And you can do the same with a folder you can find in the "Folder" menu item. You can switch OFF the synchronisation of a specific folder, which will make disappear from the map all the routes contained in this folder.

To recover these desynchronized routes, either in the "Route" or "Folder" menu items, you have to click on "Show Archived" icon (located top right of the table). It will make appear all the desynchronised routes or folders, and then you will be able to switch back ON the synchronization feature.

This is not a friendly-user solution, and you don't want to desynchronise routes from your remote device just to mask route on the gaiagps.com map. That's why I totally agree to make it more interactive and to add this "show/hide" feature directly on the map thumbnail.

I completely agree.  The ability to toggle a track or route "on" or "off on the Main Map would be great. For example - in the details of a track/route, you have a button for "show on main map".  How about making that button do both "view" and "unview" (or similar term...)

Count me in on this.  Once I have a Track saved I would like to hide the corresponding Route, but keep the Route in the event I want to go back or incorporate it into another...  Add the eyeball to Routes!!

Yes please... the main map is way to busy, so I end up over in Basecamp, where I can turn stuff on and off.

i am new; this is an important function that should be included.  Please.

do these feature requests garner feedback?  does Ashli read this community forum?

    thx !

Yes, we follow the votes and comments on the feature request and they are apart of how future projects are planned for Gaia GPS.

Check out this post from our CEO, Andrew, for more information on the current roadmap for Gaia GPS: https://help.gaiagps.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360009507793-What-s-the-status-of-the-feature-requests.

it's disingenuous to suggest that all of these comments are not clear! I actually up voted this a while back, but now I'll add my voice in clear tones.

I am currently using a DeLorme PN-60 and DeLorme Topo NA 9 as my mapping, routing, and tracking tool set. I am testing GaiaGPS, and really like it. I like the larger screen on my Note 4 and the clarity of the display. I'm planning to get a bike mount for the Note 4, though I don't think that it is as weatherproof as my GPS.

I do a lot of hiking and road and mountain biking in NH, US. That means, for example, that I have a lot of road bike routes and MB tracks in a 60k radius around my home base. The nice thing about living in a rural, mountainous area is that I get to have lots of cycling options, from a 20k dash to a 100k workout.

The nice thing in Topo is that I can LOAD only those routes I want to consider, and then I can TOGGLE each visible|invisible, to keep the map uncluttered. The mess that we get here in GaiaGPS on the desktop is well-documented, and has been ignored for too long (presumably so that the developers can focus on other bennies, such as the NG trail maps)...else why the comments about the workarounds. I AM a developer, and it seems to me that it is not a large effort to include a check box to determine what routes|tracks are displayed. Comments here and elsewhere redirect us to the app, which is not the point...all this setup stuff is way easier on the desktop than on my phone. The phone is a great management tool.

Don't feel all alone...I recently acquired a Garmin GPSMAP 66st...Garmin having bought up DeLorme, and promptly killing the PN GPS line. It has been a bitter disappointment, and the experience has this in common with GaiaGPS...BaseCamp, Garmin's analog to Topo and GaiaGPS (desktop) is clunky and limited, and hard to understand in light of Topo having been out for decade, and handling so many things so well. (It's not ideal, either, but at least it does the basics well, and one of those is  uncluttering the map.)

Yes i totally agree. I'm new to the app and just now realizing that i can't view specific tracks on the map. I just assumed i wasn't finding the right way to do it. Never occurred to me that it wouldn't actually be possible. Bummer. Would make the app much more usable if this were added.

The sync/unsync feature is weird, because for some reason unsyncing also archives the track so you can't see it in the list anymore. If it weren't for the hint above i would have thought my unsynced track got deleted.

The fact that there is a link called "Show on Main Map" in each individual track view, implies that it controls the display of that specific track and that you can toggle that track on and off the main map. Not sure why each track displays this button if all tracks are already being displayed on the main map.

I was expecting similar functionality to the GPS Tracks iphone app, where they have a "Show on Map" button that changes to "Remove" when the track is showing, so you can toggle each track on and off the main map at will.

Would absolutely love to see this implemented here. Maybe it's in the works? Thanks!

    @dixond
Thanks for posting and sorry for the confusion on how to view individuals tracks.

You can view a map of just a specific track, route, or folder by expanding the preview map on gaiagps.com or in the app.

The Show on Main Map option pans and zooms the main map to the location of the data selected.

Quick note for when using the app: you can hide/show individual tracks, routes, and folders by clicking the green eye icon next to the item in the saved fold (iOS/Android)

@Nathan -- the request isn't for viewing an individual track, but rather for allowing individual tracks to be filtered on/off on the main map. The main map shows all sync'd tracks.

The "My Tracks" page currently has columns for Title/DateCreated/Public/Sync/Folder. What I'm thinking of is something like a another column on this page "Show on Main Map" that controls visibility on the main map.

I am wondering if confusion over this is why there hasn't been any progress on this issue. Don't get me wrong--I am a premium subscriber and am mostly very happy with Gaia GPS. But the web app certainly hasn't gotten much love lately, and that's a shame.

For the web-app on gaiagps.com, an example of the functionality being requested here might be to compare platforms such as Google Earth, ArcGIS, Garmin Basecamp have a file display structure in the left-hand side-bar showing features (layers, shapes, lines, etc) listed.  Any of those items can be "de-selected" and thus not shown on the main map. Currently, this is easily accomplished within the Saved list in the iOS app by pressing the "eye" symbol on/off.

It's certainly not a deal-breaker for me - I love GaiaGPS, but I would agree the website side of the UI could use this functionality. Sure helps to unclutter an area with a ton of displayed trails, WP's, Routes, Etc. (I did this this morning transferring a GPX from Basecamp to GaiaGPS.

    @srinn & @dgjohnston1
Thanks for the extra details on how you would like to use gaiagps.com.

We are working on an update for gaiagps.com that will set the groundwork for new features such as this.

I simply want the same functionality in gaiagps.com that I have and enjoy in the mobile app.  Being able to selectively hide or display tracks and routes on the main map.  Once I complete a route, and have replaced it with a track of that route, I want to hide the route and display only the route and possibly waypoints.  I can do this on mobile app.  The desktop view is so cluttered I often can't make good use of the information.  Give me one of those eyeballs I can click on to hide a route...    I don't a thing about programming, but I can't imagine it that involved.

Any chance this is ever going to happen? It's the fifth highest voted suggestion on GaiaGPS.com functionality and it seems relatively simple as stated by many others here.

Yes, I would like this functionality. We sometimes hike multiple routes in a nearby area and it gets confusing to separate the different routes.  I would like to be able to hide the routes that don't apply to this specific trip.
