Program freezes (stops responding)
AnsweredWasn't sure to whom this should be addressed, so if there's a more appropriate place for this kind of comment, please advise.
I love the Gaia program but it has begun locking up my Android phone at an increasing frequency (now 100% of the time). The app still usually launches ok, and shows my position on the map. I can move the map around on the screen and I can move my physical position and all appears fine on the screen. However, as soon as I do anything else, such as try to start a Track Recording or try to change to a different map, the program completely locks up with the following message:
Gaia GPS isn't responding. Do you want to close it? REPORT WAIT OK
I am using the Pro version on a phone that maybe underpowered (8 GB internal memory with a 32 GB Micro SD card for map storage) but the app used to work ok most of the time. I would prefer to not invest in another phone at this point.
Would it possibly help, to remove the Pro version and reinstall the standard version on the assumption that the standard version would be less taxing on the phone? Or can I start by removing the current Pro version and then reinstalling it?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What is the solution? I just installed PRO and 24 hours into it I am having constant lockup problems on my Android S7. thanks for any help.

I'm sorry you are having trouble in the app. I sent you an email directly to troubleshoot this.

Can you send that solution to me to? I believe the problem involves storing downloaded maps on the SD card. Mine also is a Galaxy S7
