why sign in screen?

I'm running gaigps 7.0.6 legacy account samsung s5 .I am running my maps from an sdcard not the normal system memory in case that matters.

  Just today I went out to use it after not using it for about a month and I am greeted by a request to "start exploring"   and then login.  I don't want to login certainly not thru facebook and I may not be able to login if I don't have a data connection.  Why is this new start exploring screen popping up.  It took me a while to realize I had to just dismiss the screens.

  I'm sorry for the unwanted "Start Exploring" screen.

  This shouldn't happen again if you remain logged into the app, but if it happens again, please submit a request so we can take a closer look.
