    Hi,

It looks like your photos are showing now! Let me know if you still need help with that.

By the way, if you'd like to upgrade to the latest version of Gaia GPS, you can download it for free here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gaia-gps-hiking-hunting-maps/id1201979492?mt=8

Thanks, they do seem to be there now - some kind of lag or problem with syncing?

    Michael,

Photos can take a bit longer to sync than other items.

Also, sync can only progress when the app is open.

"Also, sync can only progress when the app is open."

That's probably key.  I have the habit of turning certain apps off to extend battery life.

It seems to be happening again.  Photos from this track

    https://www.gaiagps.com/datasummary/track/c51507e05c90ebd1133686a0846f26c9/?layer=GaiaTopoRasterFeet

& another one on the same day are uploaded (findable in photos) but don't get linked to the tracks.   The iphone device has been on, connected to the local wireless, and the gaia gps app left running, but no joy.

Did you record the track and save the photos in the classic version of the app or the new version of Gaia GPS (gold border)?

I seem to have been using the classic version, altho it looks like I also have the new version installed (it didn't download but just opened from the app store page).  I tried sync in the new version, no change.

    Good afternoon,

I seem to have a similar issue. Worked with iPad mini 3 and iPhone X in the past. Just switched to record tracks on a new iPad mini 4 and synced all past tracks to this device. Now I recorded new tracks which uploaded to Gaia GPS on the web smoothly, but without photos taken during the trip. Tried to sync various times, log on/off, restart the device, let run the sync for several hours - nothing. Any clues ?

I have the same problem. Only started using Gaia a month or so ago, so probably the new version of the app. But while the photos appear in the app, they do not sync with the web version. The photos are not there at all nor linked to the waypoints and I can't see a way of downloading the photos to then upload to the web. Any help please?

I'm sorry there is an issue with your photo syncing to gaiagps.com.

Can you send the activity logs for Gaia GPS to support?

    • open Gaia GPS > Settings > Other > Send Logs

With the activity logs, can you also include the name of one of the waypoint photos that is not syncing?

Nathan, I have the same problem.  Only about half of the waypoint pics make it out of the phone to the web based GAIA.

As it has been going on for months, I'll take new pics this weekend and submit logs if the problem continues.

BTW, they are on the phone, but not on the web see below.  Also, clicking on the placeholder the error "original image not found" is displayed.

A few of the pics were from the JMT, I'm hopeful that they can eventually be synced.

    Thanks,

    John

Sorry for the confusion on sending the activity logs for Gaia GPS. I have forwarded the logs you post on the support team and someone will follow up with you there shortly.

Please also let support know the no reply email address that was shown so we can look into that.

Same problem here. Screenshot of jpurdy above is exactly what I see in the web version. I took the pictures with the Android app, but only see part of them in the web version. Therefore also the pics are not synced well with my iPad Gaia GPS version.

For what it's worth: in my case, the pictures that were only partially synced well, were taken offline and later synced with a bad internet connection (possibly with frequent interruptions). Later, when I had a good internet connection, I took new pictures as a test, which synced perfectly well.

Please let me know what to do, or when you expect this to be solved.

    Thanks.

This also happens to me (most recently a few days ago) -- I can see the waypoints on gaiagps.com, but not the images. I use the Android app v. 7.1.3.

Same problem here.  I see the photo on my waypoint in the GAIAGPS app on my phone but it's showing a dead link on the web site.  Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the same issue, Jpurdy's screenshot above mirrors my situation.  Most of the pictures I took today while recording my tracks did not sync to the web.

I see that some of the pictures I took today did sync, and if I had to guess it appears to be the ones that were taken at a time when  I had cellar signal, but I'm not %100 sure on that.

Can you send me the email with troubleshooting steps that you have sent other people?  seems like the info there can solve the problem.

Or, better yet, make this info available under the Android support FAQ's which is where I looked first to try to solve this problem :)

I'm sorry you are having trouble with your photos syncing to the website. The fix for this requires initiating sync in the app.

I sent you an email with information on how to sync your device with gaiagps.com.

Same problem here. Can only see thumbnails (which are broken) and not all pictures of the hike:

Pictures won't resynch and people can't see the pictures from the link above.
