Write tracks and new waypoints to "active" folder
AnsweredCurrently newly created waypoints and tracks are not assigned to any folder. Moving a saved waypoint to a folder is excruciatingly slow (takes exactly 9s for the existing folder list to come up on a high end Android phone). Ideally the user would be able to specify an "active" folder and all tracks and waypoints would be saved there, keeping the trip as a neat self-contained entity. This will also help clearly separate pre-loaded items from ones created during a trip.

I agree 100% with this. Would make it so much easier to sort and organize everything.

This has been an ongoing frustration for me as well. Why should it require a 2-step process to keep your data organized?

The file "organization" is the greatest of my headaches in Gaia GPS. When I upload a .gpx, I don't necessarily want to create a new folder. I want the track or route or waypoints to land in the folder I have specified / "active" / navigated to.

This needs to be fixed. Waypoints should be automatically associated with the track they are attached to.

Hey spalmiter,
Waypoints should already be automatically associated with tracks that they are attached to. If you're having trouble with that, can you send a note to support@gaiagps.com so we can help?
