Entering lat / long on the web app doesn't not go to the coordinates.
CompletedJust hangs there on the latest version of Chrome and Firefox. Search for anything other than lat / long works fine though.
Take a look... http://www.giphy.com/gifs/3oEdTYZxpnMMvpPuLe
Or maybe even have feature parity with the mobile app. That would be awesome.

Yes, it seems to "work", to get into the general area. But now to get picky: the default zoom-level when I query a lat/lon is 2km/1 mile. The "center" of my screen could be a huge area at that level. I cant tell where "X-marks the spot"... until I zoom-in tight and then I'd still be guessing unless there's a feature there. Perhaps this is a limitation we have to live with given the capabilities of the web interface.
So lets look at how we add waypoints. Currently we only have the option to "click on the map" to set a WP. What about adding a field/option to enter a lat/lon to create a waypoint? That should drop a "pin" on the map, and allow for then managing the WP as needed (zoom-in, move it, edit it, save it, etc)
Thoughts?

Thanks for the feedback!
We do plan to add the ability to drop waypoints based on coordinates so you can get an accurate location marking.
Currently, we're in the midst of a big under-the-hood change for the map page, and I think we'll be able to add more features like adding waypoints by coordinate after that project is done.

I was just going to entry a "ticket" for this feature noted above but found this thread.
Love that I can now copy and paste coordinates, but there's no way to see what's there since no icon actually drops on the map at that coordinate. I can't zoom in either, since I (sometimes) don't know what I'm looking for and only have a coordinate...think primitive campsite. If it's a building, it's still tough since the map zoom level is so far away from the "target."
Getting better, Gaia! Thanks for continually trying to make improvements.
