Interconnection between routes waypoints and maps

By "delete a map" I assume you mean removing a map layer.  Doing that has no effect on any waypoints, routes, or tracks that you've saved.

The map layer(s) are just what's shown underneath your saved data. You can change or reorder the layer(s) you have displayed at any time without impacting the other information.

Okay, that's a great question! Yes, deleting the map will unfortunately also delete any routes and waypoints associated with it. Think of it like losing your Poptropica island save data when you delete the world. To avoid this, back up your routes/waypoints first! Export them if possible. Maybe the developers could add a feature to save routes separately? That would be awesome!

If you delete a map, any routes and waypoints associated with that map will also be deleted. Make sure to back up, papa's scooperia or transfer any important routes or waypoints before deleting the map.

Dougmasterleo's concern about the interconnection between routes, waypoints, and maps is a valid one. I've encountered a similar situation myself when planning outdoor adventures.

That’s a great question — I’ve run into this situation before, and yes, if you delete the map, the routes and waypoints linked to it are usually removed as well unless they’re saved separately. It’s always best to back them up first before replacing the map.
