New "Sync to Mobile" to multiple devices

It would be nice if the new sync to mobile feature could control which devices it is, or is not syncing to. I want my maps to sync to my tablet, but not to my phone. I would like to have GAIA on my phone as a backup in case my tablet fails, but I don't want to fill it's storage with all the offline map data I load into my tablet. I've tried disabling auto-resume downloads on the phone, but that doesn't seem to work. The map downloads starting spinning again the next time I start GAIA.

  I've tried disabling auto-resume downloads on my phone, but it still starts downloading the maps again whenever I launch GAIA. Having the option to selectively sync would enhance the user experience!
