Wanted: to turn off Turn-by-Turn

I have used Gaia GPS for years.  I love the features, like offline maps, route creation, and all the goodies on the maps themselves.

However, a few years ago, Gaia added the Turn-by-Turn to Guide me.  This really ruined the app experience for me. The Turn-by-Turn (tbt) never really picked up all the turns on the trail. It always cut corners and did not snap to the actual route on the map.  It skipped turn and added weird turns at odd spots. 

My biggest issue was that I loved the Guide Me function that counted down the miles to the end of the trail and miles from the beginning.  This was great for helping the kids know the distance till the end.  It also was a quick way to judge your progress.

I understand the need for the tbt for certain times, Like driving.  I also get that that some people might really like the tbt.

Can you turn off the tbt on Guide me or create a new feature, one that follows movement along the route, has distance to the end, and distance from the beginning?

I have asked about this before and am still waiting.  I want come back to Gaia GPS.  OS Explorer has this feature as does Garmin.
