Gaia GPS logging out on it own
Another unhappy unsatisfied long-time user of Gaia GPS who has been logged out of the app a multitude of times while off cellular network making it a really sketchy hike back or side-by-side ride when you're in areas that you were exploring for the first time! I have had emails with Tech support telling me about a snooze feature that supposedly we need to enable in order to not get logged out randomly, but I have never seen this new feature on my Android tablet or my Google Pixel phone. This is a terrible user experience. Very unsafe and the potential liabilities for somebody dying or being seriously injured is epic. Gaia and I guess now Outside magazine really need to get this thing addressed. No GPS app should be logging users off! A GPS app should be stand-alone and separated from cellular service once the maps are downloaded for OFFLINE USE. In closing, as other users have stated, I have never seen this snooze feature that I was told by Gaia tech support was the whole reason behind us being logged out of the app was that we were forced to log back in to acknowledge this 28-day snooze feature again. I have not seen it, but I can tell you that I have been logged out at least three times in less than the last 30 days. Each one of those times I was already off network twice while hiking in once while out in my side by side.

GAIA has an impressive number of maps, but the options you can change are minimal for such a high priced subscription. This requirement to have you log in at inopportune times is ridiculous. Outside Magazine sux and will more than likely ruin this app.
