Justin at Gaia Tech Support is "Sorry" but nothing is going to change.  There is a 28-day snooze feature which bypasses login, but I've not yet been able to find it. Even if I do, it requires cell service login to enable.

Gaia claims logout was forced "once" to enable new app features.  My Gaia app has logged-out multiple times now, on its own.

$70 year subscription for this. Nope.

Long time paid and happy user BTW.

i had the same issue a while back. all of a sudden my track stopped and i needed to log in to the outside app, but didn't have cell service. it basically made my gaia app non-functional and i was in the middle of nowhere. it was pretty nervewracking as my wife was supposed to pick me up at a certain location. i was way off course, and luckily while she was driving around she heard my mountain bike bell and figured out where i would end up.  i haven't tried the 28 day snooze thing yet, and i am a little worried i will forget to use it when i need it.

i feel bad for the customer support people because they are probably getting a lot of grief over this problem.

Was going to submit the exact same report as hpinson as I had this experience this past weekend. Yep, had that supposedly one-time sign up/login come in a month or so ago (?) but was surprised to see it again in the backcountry when I lost service. Only able to regain access to app when I received a signal again.

Same sentiments: have been a happy gaia user (and recommend it to my avalanche students) for years, but new "feature" is unacceptable if it goes unfixed. There are other navigation apps actively seeking our business that don't yet appear to have this issue.

Another unhappy unsatisfied long-time user of Gaia GPS who has been logged out of the app a multitude of times while off cellular network making it a really sketchy hike back or side-by-side ride when you're in areas that you were exploring for the first time! I have had emails with Tech support telling me about a snooze feature that supposedly we need to enable in order to not get logged out randomly, but I have never seen this new feature on my Android tablet or my Google Pixel phone. This is a terrible user experience. Very unsafe and the potential liabilities for somebody dying or being seriously injured is epic. Gaia and I guess now Outside magazine really need to get this thing addressed. No GPS app should be logging users off! A GPS app should be stand-alone and separated from cellular service once the maps are downloaded for OFFLINE USE. In closing, as other users have stated, I have never seen this snooze feature that I was told by Gaia tech support was the whole reason behind us being logged out of the app was that we were forced to log back in to acknowledge this 28-day snooze feature. Again, I have not seen it, but I can tell you that I have been logged out at least three times in less than the last 30 days. Each one of those times I was already off network twice while hiking and once while out in my side by side.

I encountered the same problem a few weeks ago. Fortunately I was able to get logged back in but it has not synced exactly as it always did since. yesterday morning I woke up to a train wreck. I have many folders with over 2000 different pins in them and now I have a list of over 2000 pins that are no longer in folders. I can get NO response from tech support. I have used this product daily for years. I have a mess that I do not have a clue how to fix.

And the same issue while riding a Backcountry Discovery route on my motorcycle. Luckily I was able to get to the top of a hill and log back in but this could be damn dangerous. If they don't fix it saying I'm done with Gaia

    Goodbye Gaia, hello AllTrails.

Same issue on the logging out and not being there when needed on a hike out of cellular range, even with downloaded maps. It seems like Gaia has gotten much worse since Outside took over. That on the top of a significant (obscene really) increase in the cost of the Premium subscription. After several years with what was a great program, this will be my last renewal.

Same logout issue occurred with us.  Luckily we were able to acquire a cell tower AND remember the password to get back in.

This is a serious safety issue.

Outside continues to ruin the once awesome Gaia.
