Current/Recording track should show up on top of others

Frequently my current/recording track "hides" under a previous track.  It seems like a no-brainer to me that the current track should be on top.  Is there a way to "fix" this?  I do not want to hide the previous because I may actually want to follow it part way around.

  Bumping this again. Current track being recorded still hides behind any saved tracks.
