Uploading a georeferenced .pdf

There are numerous posts on this issue and seemingly no mitigation...?

I am a federal wildland firefighter and all large Incident Management Teams produce georeferenced .pdf maps.  Importing a .pdf in Avenza is very simple, but avenza does not have the very useful layer options available in Gaia: Wildfires (US, Historical), Wildfires (satellite) and Wildfires (current). 

How do I simply and quickly upload georeferenced.pdf maps?

  This would be a very useful feature. It's possible to make a georeferenced map with layers and tracks in CalTopo and open it in Avenza. I've been using Gaia for years now and would prefer to use a Gaia pdf in Avenza since I am familiar with all of the features already. I've also seen this same request from users going back over four years now with no updates, so I'm considering moving over to CalTopo for the better capabilities. If anyone knows if this is possible yet, please share it here, because I've had no luck finding it anywhere else so far.
