Is Gaia reading all this?

Hi Filip, not an employee but someone who really likes GAIA and can empathize with frustrated customers and what seems to be an overwhelmed but passionate GAIA team. I say that because I found this blog article from last year very enlightening and I think it covers some of your questions. https://blog.gaiagps.com/type-2-engineeering/

I have been in this position and completely feel for them.

Although I don’t see GAIA involvement in this part of their site, I have always had strong responses and engagement with the GAIA team via helpdesk tickets I create via the app. They are prompt, friendly and super helpful.

So my conclusion is that they have deprioritized this forum and prioritize official help requests submitted via their app while they try to rebuild.

So in other words, Outside bought GAIA without knowing what they were doing or what it takes to manage a software development project. They proceeded to layoff most of the staff while being clueless what it would take to improve the site or apps.  They haven't used a dollar of our subscriptions to rent or buy any servers so this website takes 50 times longer to load a page than any other website I've ever used.  They'll claim your browser cache is at fault yet the same browser connecting to Garmin Connect or Ride With GPS loads pages in a fraction of a second instead of 30 seconds to a minute here.  If I didn't love GAIA Topo map, I'd just cancel my subscription because we aren't getting anything for our money any longer.

I came to the community today to see if anyone else is fed up with the ludicrous slowness of the GAIA server(s) but of course there's nothing here.

Yep, that's pretty much the long and short of it. Gaia support USED to be very active on this forum but then the Outside mess happened. I get frustrated when they release weird new features like the horizontal route creation UI changes that pin the route editing tools along the bottom of the browser. They spend time on this (granted it's presentation layer changes only) yet the gps track mapping remains inaccurate, snapping to the nearest road, etc. when you're actually on a nearby trail. Not sure why/what changed with tracking accuracy, it used to be much better. In an earlier post, I tracked down the last official Gaia support post to the forums (can't remember the exact date) but it was a LONG time ago.

I am continuing to get zero responses to online postings in feature requests or community forum.

HOWEVER, I am getting excellent prompt help by email, which I really appreciate.  I try to post online first, so the 'community' can learn together, and reduce the load on the skilled help.  An answer in the forum is an answer for hundreds of people with the same question.  But hey, if that doesn't work, and they always answer my email, I'm fine with receiving great personal service.

Yes, I now also agree with that. I'm currently having an email conversation with the GAIA support team (it's about the fact that certain map layers keep disappearing) and I have to say that they at least seem committed. Sometimes it takes a while to get an answer, but there is a noticeable interest in getting the problem under control.

Nevertheless, I also find it a pity that there are no official answers or at least simple statements from the team here in this forum, for example in response to feature requests.
