"arrived at your destination" when I've just started a route
I am admittedly new to Gaia and am just trying to figure things out, but here's one that I just can't seem to work through. I have plotted a Gaia test route on my computer, beginning at my home, going out a half-mile or so and then looping back. The first couple blocks and the last couple blocks are the same (so the route is a lollipop). The issue is that when I start the route and ask Gaia to "guide me," within the first half of a block, I get the message that I have arrived at my destination, and the app no longer accurately tracks (or guides) me regardless of how far I go on the route. How do I work around this???? I'm almost ready to ask for a refund!

same issue. been using Gaia for several quinquennia, but recently tried to follow a cycling route I laid out ahead of time. From the moment I started, it kept saying "you have arrived", and then the guidance kept saying to turn around. I acted tough and just turned off the route, but then it also stopped tracking, so I didn't get my mileage/rate info for that day.
It's understandable that any dude could plan a route and then make a minor adjustment along the way. It would be great to have a choice to "alter route", or if we cancel route, have a prompt that says cancel tracking also, or continue tracking. I know that's a little different from your first concern, but it's in the same package.

Tried Guide Me again on the iphone 14. Cyclist averaging 12 mph. It still stays "you have arrived" as soon as you start the route. But after a mile it stopped that and seemed to be trying to direct my future. But it was really annoying. Had a voice-over that was way too active! And, every time the GPS would recalc, the voice would have to renounce. "you are 500ft from your destination" "you are 600 ft from your destination" "you are 500 ft from your destination" like that. continual reannouncements just because the gps recalced. And apparently the "destination" was the next turn. Doesn't say "turn right in 400 ft", it says "you are 400 ft from you destination". Got really weary of the voice. Wish we could select the amount of guidance. The voice notes were echoing text notes that had the same issues. too much reporting. And everthing is a 'destination'.
ONE BIG PLUS when we actually make a turn, it gives name and number. I have wanted this on every navigator I've used in a car, and never gotten it. But Gaia says "turn Right on Smith Drive, road 763" . very helpful. The car navigators are deliberately obtuse, giving you a road number when you're in the middle of town and only seeing street names, or giving you a street name when you're in the country and only see rt numbers. and route numbers are usually warned ahead of time.
After awhile, I wanted to preserve battery life, so I blanked the iphone screen. I expected the voice commands to continue, but they didn't. At the next turn I turned the screen on to find that Guide Me had also stopped. Totally disappeared. Hmm... should I re-start the route? well, it's going to take me back home rather than pick up where I am...
For now I'll continue to follow my route visually as my arrow moves along the roads. I don't understand why such a poor implementation was even implemented. Somebody must be embarrassed. Or not.
