Downloaded maps question...

Please forgive the redundancy. This was posted elsewhere...

I understand that maps can't be highlighted, downloaded, and saved on the online, gaiagps.com platform. I am wondering WHY that is... It would be so much easier to create downloaded maps on a full-sized screen.

ALSO

Is there a way to simulate a no-cell zone to test if I created and downloaded offline maps correctly? I would hate to get to a no cell area and find out that my downloaded maps don't work.

  No Cell Zone Test. I check if my maps have been downloaded by putting my phone into Airplane mode and looking to see if the maps show up in the required detail.
