User input and interface delays

Why does the app take 25-30 seconds to execute a command for every user touch I do ? It is like the app is off doing something else and not prioritizing my user inputs. For example, if I type in a sentence in a note field, every letter’s keystroke takes 25 seconds. Every map zoom takes 30 seconds. Any user input takes this long! Almost like it is doing some other unimportant tasks.
