After loading your maps and everything is set up, you used to be able to lock the screen so accidentally touching the screen would have no effect on it.

You can use a native iOS feature to do this and it’s fairly straightforward and customizable. It’s called “Guided Access” and you can read about it on the Apple website here. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202612

I understand the question from the subject line as “ you used to be able to lock the screen so accidentally touching the screen would have no effect on it” and Guided Access on iOS allows you to lock the screen so you can see an app but disable all buttons from accidental changes. So although it’s not using GAIA, it still seems to still solve the problem. Am I not understanding the problem correctly?

I tried the Guided Access on my apple phone and it works great. It freezes the screen just like Gaia used to do. Only difference is, the old version in Gaia app did it in one step to freeze screen and one step to unfreeze the screen. Very quick and to the point. Guided Access takes about 5 or 6 steps to freeze the screen and 3 or 4 to unfreeze screen, but it does do the same thing. Also, you can stop access to the side and volume buttons, so you can locate your phone just right in your phone holder without worrying about pressing the buttons. Hope this helps.
