Gaia on CarPlay usable for anyone?

Gaia on CarPlay in my 2022 Ram 2500 is completely unusable. Anyone else have issues? 

It used to work ok'ish but recently it has gone non-functionable.

Basically no user input from the CarPlay app works, the main issue being:

  1. The CarPlay display doesn't follow your position. The vehicle just drives off the map and it cannot be centered. The "course up" button on the screen is completely non functioning and changes nothing.
  2. Disconnecting from CarPlay and re-connecting re-sets the carplay app, but it still will not accept user input. 
  3. Un-installing and re-installing Gaia on the phone has no effect.

I know this is an issue with Gaia as other apps like onX Offroad work on CarPlay perfectly fine.

Anyone else?

    I have similar issues with Gaia on CarPlay with my Jeep Wrangler -- Gaia is non-responsive to any input from the CarPlay screen - and even from the iphone side, it seems to bogg down and be unresponsive to input.   For me - Disconnecting and reconnecting to CarPlay crashes Gaia on the iPhone.  

    Disconnected from CarPlay - just on the phone, Gaia works fine.   But CarPlay does not work at all.

    I wonder if there is something related to the Ram/Jeep head units - because it seems others are able to get Gaia working on CarPlay.

    Gaia has been unresponsive on the issue... This is a deal breaker for me, I've already started migrating to a competitor app that just works...

    Gaia works fine with CarPlay on my Ford Ranger. I mostly use a dozen layered maps that cover half of Georgia. Maybe it is just Jeeps.

    I want to use the Gaia CarPlay functionality on a motorbike but having just been testing it in my car with a Sony Carppay head unit I’m really disappointed with how it doesn’t really work

    When using it as CarPlay is designed the map becomes dysfunctional

    The CarPlay app works if I keep the map open on my phone too. This won’t work on the motorbike 😩

    I’ve been a paying user for several years now and during last few months I’ve been scrambling to find a compatible replacement for photography which includes both hiking and driving. The app has become so unreliable with CarPlay use on 2018 GMC that I’m moving on. Every update seems to break something then as I add more waypoints, the database can’t handle it. Good luck

    Agreed, I've moved over to OnX, Gaia is unusable nowadays. Its a shame, I really liked the amount of maps Gaia has..

    Same in our 2025 Outback Wilderness.  unusable on CarPlay.  time to find another app.  Used to love it, not so much anymore.

    Been using GAIA since inception. Premium user. 
    Saved over 50,000 miles of tracks and hundreds and hundreds of waypoints. Always using iOS. All issues over the years have been eventually addressed, but this CarPlay is ridiculous. They’re obviously not listening to your comments ⬆️ above. Just upgraded to Carplay on my motorcycle. Standalone unit- completely independent from vehicle. Just my iPhone like it’s always been. Using CarPlay, trackline just drives right off the map and the recenter/present position doesn’t update by tapping on Carplay screen. 
    Gonna be a dealbreaker for me if they don’t fix it. Are you listening GAIA?!? Disappointed and frustrated!
