Grid / scale changes in 2023 iOS version????

I believe it used to be that, with the grid overlay turned on, the scale indicator (i.e., bar scale) displayed on the main map screen matched the grids, and always changed to match distance between grid lines. (Now that I have upgraded the app, of course, I can't check to see if I am correct about the previous behavior, but this is a feature I used frequently, so I think I'm right.)

Now (since the 2023.7 upgrade?) the map scale indicator appears to be decoupled from the grid, which requires a lot more estimating of the distance covered by the grids and makes it much less easy to use. 

I am wondering if others have noticed this, and whether there are any settings to revert to the way it worked in the previous version(s).

  In case anyone else is wondering about this, apparently they broke this feature and are fixing it in a future release. I got this email from support:

  Hi there,
   
  Thanks for using Gaia GPS. Sorry for the trouble.
   
  Our team is currently working to reintegrate the distance grid scale feature into the app. It is scheduled to be included in the upcoming release, expected sometime in December.

  I look forward to getting this future back. It is the main reason I pay $40 for this app, vs “almost as good” free options. When the scale is a little ruler tucked into the corner, it is useless on a smartphone screen. Building the scale into the grids is a killer feature that will earn a lot of loyalty when folks discover it.

  I hike 50 miles per week. I’m a paid subscriber. Please work hard to not “break” the app when your staff creates busywork to “improve” it.

  Absolutely agree. The grid scale feature is something I used constantly (and now constantly miss;-). Not having it these past many months has made me seriously contemplate changing to a different service. Looks like the promised December update to return this feature did not do so.

  To the "Gaia GPS Customer Success Team": you can do it - bring the grid with scale back!! (And please provide a realistic estimate of when we can expect to see it!)

  Definitely agree! This was a key feature I used constantly. So disappointing that it hasn't been brought back yet. A few months of using without is extremely frustrating.
  Gaia GPS Customer Service, when is this feature going to be brought back, you said December 2023, it's now February 2024. Please help!

  Love this ap but very disappointed the map grid scale was broken. Like others, I pay for premium and will look elsewhere if this is not fixed soon.

  Well, it is now March. There was an update recently, and no fix. This is disappointing to say the least.

  And for added fun it also decided I dont need to see the names of any of my waypoints. I keep turning the nake option on, and the ap does not save that selection. I dont know what was broke, but the first rule of holes is when you are in one stop digging.
