How to remove gas station/convenience store, etc. icons

I would like to not have gas station/convenience store and other similar icons show so that when I print a map for display, they do not clutter up the map.  Seems they're most likely to appear on a GAIAGPS generated map.  They don't show on the USGS maps.  Any ideas?
